‘DO NOT NEGLECT TO SHOW HOSPITALITY TO STRANGERS’
Hebrews 13:2

The note of welcome permeates the New Testament. The two on the road to Emmaus would never had met the risen Christ if they had not welcomed him as a stranger into their home.
Christ had experienced rejection.

‘He came to what was his own, and his own people did not accept him’ (John 1:11)
