The Victorian Aboriginal Catholic Council and the Aboriginal Catholic Ministry Victoria invite all of you to join us in prayer during Reconciliation Week from 27 May to 3 June. This year marks 10 years since the walk across the bridges in all states and 20 years since the decade of the Reconciliation process. We hope that you will take the opportunity to reflect on the last ten years and recommit to reconciliation. May God always be on this journey with us. I offer to you for the good wishes, prayers and very generous gift you gave me last Sunday on the fortieth anniversary of Ordination to the Priesthood. I have had a wonderful week with family, friends and fellow priests ordained with me.

We are looking to set up a ‘Friendship’ program at St Anne’s School for the children who would benefit from having a special friend or mentor. Mums, dads, grandparents or relatives if you are interested, have good listening skills, the ability to relate to young people, understand the importance of confidentiality and have some free time to offer during school hours, please complete the Expression of Interest form at Welcoming Desk and return it to the school office. A brief invitation will be offered at all Masses next Sunday for more parishioners to be involved in this group caring for those with intellectual disability.

At Corpus Christi College, Drummond St. Carlton next Saturday 5 June from 9.00am to 1.00pm—parishioners and friends welcome.

Young single adults (18-35) are invited to attend one of our two retreat weekends.

1. ‘Mary MacKillop Inspired & Inspiring’ – experience the inspiration of a remarkable woman Friday 9 July to Sunday 11 July at Jan Juc. RSVP 30.06.10.
2. ‘Mary MacKillop Towards Canonisation’ – become inspired through her journey to sainthood Fri 27 August to Sun 29 August at Rye. RSVP 18.08.10. Cost for either weekend is $50 employed, with a concession rate for students/unwaged.

The Winter 2010 edition of Australian Catholics is available at the back of the Church. The edition looks at the global mission of our Church and features the stories of Australians working in developing countries. Please take a copy home with you.
