HISTORICAL COMMITTEE: Will hold their meeting on Monday 10 November at 2pm in St Anne’s Church Meeting Room.
SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN BAPTISMS: will be celebrated next Sunday 16 November at 10.30am mass.
Mass will be offered on Friday 14 November at 9.15am for all the faithful departed Legionaries members and Auxiliaries.
Also, please note there will be no Adoration on Friday 7 December.
A Stitch in Time is an Oration delivered by Prof Patrick McGorry AO (2010 Australian of the Year) presenting early intervention in the identification and treatment of psychosis, particularly among young people.
Prof John Gleeson, will give the response to Prof McGorry’s Oration.
Monday 1 December 7pm at Phillipa Brazil Theatre, Daniel Mannix Building, ACU 8 Brunswick St, Fitzroy.

Thank you to all parishioners who attended the Mass of Remembrance on Wednesday night. Thank you to Fr Bert who celebrated a very moving Mass with those who attended. The supper afterward was enjoyed by many who then shared stories of their loved ones.
Throughout November, our parish will be bringing the “Book of
Life” with the Gifts at the Procession. Please feel free to add your loved ones names to the book. Also, November 30 will be the day Fr Kevin will bless graves at Bull Cemetery (2pm) then Sunbury Cemetery (3pm). All welcome.
Mass of Rememberance will be celebrated on Wednesday 5 November in memory of our dear departed loved ones. All are welcome to attend Mass at 7.30pm in St Anne’s Church which will be followed by Supper. Please bring a photo of your loved one if you wish.
At all Masses this month, we will be bringing the “Book of Life” to the Altar with the Procession of the Gifts, for those who have entered the names of their loved ones to be prayed for this month of November. You are welcome to add to the “Book of Life” throughout the month if you wish. Blank sheets are available in each church.
As November is the month we dedicate to the memories of our
departed loved ones, a reminder that Fr Kevin will be blessing graves on Sunday 30 November at Bulla Cemetery at 2pm then Sunbury Cemetery at 3pm.
Our Church Tapestry has been changed to the colour purple to commemorate the feast of All Saints and All Souls this weekend.
A giant car boot sale and craft market will be held by Sunbury Uniting Church on the Village Green and inside the church hall, on Saturday 15th November from 8.30am. There will be outside car sites (over 60 cars!) plus inside craft stalls and Devonshire Teas. Sites still available ($20) but be quick! Phone Helen on 9744 3031.

Sunday December 7 in Parish Centre after 10.30am Mass we will hold the combined Multicultural Day and Youth Christmas Carols. All are welcome to attend. Please bring a traditional plate of food to share and enjoy the various cultural performances of our multicultural community. Santa will attend the day also. Our parish community offers our prayerful sympathy to Fr Bert Fulbrook as his older sister, Anne Mamo, entered eternal life last weekend. Anne lived in London with her family but was very close to Fr Bert.
Also, we offer our sincere sympathy to Helen Bull and her family as Brendan Bull entered eternal life on Monday morning. His funeral was celebrated on Friday in St Anne’s church with many family and friends in attendance. Brendan and Helen have been very active parishioners in this parish for many years until Brendan became ill. Our community is very grateful for the generosity Brendan and Helen have given to our parish in the past.
Our parish community also offer our prayerful sympathy to the family of Mathew Nash whose funeral prayers will be celebrated on Wednesday 5 November at 11am.

Recent items added to the Parish Website are a history of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church and the memories of some parishioners. Over time further “Memories” will be added from the many oral histories on file. We would like to hear from any parishioners who would be interested in sharing their memories of parish.

Victorian Parliament Prayer Network will be holding a public prayer meeting for the election at Parliament in Queens Hall on Saturday 15 November from 1-3.15pm at Parliament House, Spring St, East Melbourne. Please continue to pray for all the works that happen in Parliament and for our city. Australia is named the “Great Southland of the Holy Spirit”.
Lourdes Day Mass will be celebrated in St Patrick’s Cathedral on Saturday 6 December at 10.30am. Wheelchair access is available at both side entrances. A blessing with Lourdes water will be given by Archbishop of Melbourne, Denis Hart.
Are invited to the free concert at Memorial Hall on Wednesday 29 October 2014 from 11.30am to 2.30pm. Limited numbers so booking is essential.

Congratulations to our year 3 students who began to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation last week. The 115 students took part in one of the four sessions.
We were greatly assisted by three Columban Missionary priests: Fr Dan, Fr Ray and Fr Tom from Essendon.
Congratulations to our year 12 students from Salesian College who celebrated with their parents their Graduation Mass at St Anne’s Church in thanksgiving for the last six years and for success in the VCE exams this month. 142 students graduated.
Salesian College Year 9 Campus commenced in February 2014. At the College Council meeting last Wednesday, it was noted that parents have been so impressed with the new program in the new campus that parents at other schools have enrolled their children for Year 9 in 2015 so that the campus will be at capacity with 232 students and there is a waiting list. The open evening in early October was very well attended and 140 pizzas were cooked at the campus!

It won’t be as hard as delivering the mail to Birdsville but Goonawarra/ Rolling Meadows are in desperate need of posties. Our posties currently deliver the parish newsletter to Catholic households 4 times per year. It would be great if we could reduce the load of those already helping in this large area by having more volunteers help out. If you can help, please contact the Parish office on 9744 1060. It would be much appreciated.
