Congratulations and our prayers to our 79 children who were accepted into preparing to begin celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Eucharist at our four parish Masses last Sunday.
PARENTS OF CHILDREN BEGINNING THEIR SACRAMENTAL LIFE
On Tuesday 4 June at 2pm and 7.30pm, there will be the Information and Registration session for children generally of Year 3, whom their parents think are ready to begin celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation in August. These sessions are Adult Faith Programs facilitated by Fr Andrew Hayes PP.
EARLY MASS DEPARTURES
Our Mass has four essential parts: Introductory Rites, Liturgy of the Word, Liturgy of the Eucharist and Concluding Rites of Blessing and Dismissal. With First Communion Masses, it would be respectful and excellent role modelling to our children if all parishioners were to remain to the end of all Masses. The only time Mass should be left early is in the event of an emergency, otherwise the final blessing and dismissal are missed– these to are important parts of the Mass.

PREPARATION FOR FIRST COMMUNION
First Communion preparation continues today as the Children are presented with the only prayer given to us by Jesus– the “Our Father”.
THANKSGIVING MEALS
Last Wednesday and Thursday, the children preparing for First Communion learned about the Passover meal.
Please continue to pray for them at this special time.
First Communion will be celebrated from Saturday 18 May until Sunday 2 June.

CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations to all involved in the planning, the teaching, the singing, and the ushering of hundreds of people who came to our Cathedral to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation last Sunday. The Cathedral was filled twice. We congratulate those 121 children confirmed, their sponsors, teachers, catechists and families. We were blessed with the weather and we finally thank Monsignor Greg Bennet who presided and preached so well.
We have booked in again for 2013 at the same time.
PREPARING FOR SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION
A celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be held on Tuesday 9 October at 7.15pm in St Anne’s Church. Several priests will be present.
WELCOME TO THE CONFIRMATION CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES
Welcome to the Confirmation children and their families who are here to prepare for their upcoming Sacrament in October. Please continue to pray for the children who will receive their Confirmation Stoles this weekend.
WELCOME
Welcome to families of children preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Part of preparation for Confirmation is the Rite of Election. We pray for these children to be strengthened in their faith as they receive this important Sacrament.
Lord God,
you created the human race
and are the author of its renewal.
Bless all your adopted children and add these chosen ones
to the harvest of your new covenant. As true children of the promise,
may they rejoice in eternal life, won, not by the power of nature,
but through the mystery of your grace.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

MEAL AS A MEMORIAL OF LAST SUPPER
240 students, parents and teachers gathered in the Parish Centre last Wednesday and Thursday evenings to recall in prayer and in eating and drinking the meal of the Last Supper.
We prayed the Psalms of the Jewish Passover and the words of Jesus at His last Passover meal before he died for us.
The students are preparing to begin receiving the Eucharist next month.
Thanks to Richard Hallett, the student RE team and our teachers for preparing the moving celebrations.
