We are just looking for cakes and sweets at this time (if it goes well, a soup, casserole and curry one will follow). Please drop your recipes into the parish office or email sunbury@cam.org.au. All donations for recipes will be acknowledged in the cookbook. Closing date will be 16 August, so book orders can start being taken immediately. Any family legend recipes to share? Gran’s best apple pie? Aunt Jenny’s chocolate cake?

WYD 2013- GLADSTONE PARK YOUNG VINNIES
Join Gladstone Park Young Vinnies to celebrate a Youth Mass at Good Shepherd Church at 6pm, followed by dinner, games, Praise and Worship and a sleep out. Stay overnight and enjoy breakfast, the live stream of Saturday night’s vigil from Rio, lunch and farewells the next day.

BRAZILIAN THEME DANCE NIGHT
Bring your dancing shoes to the St Anne’s Parish Centre on Saturday 27 July from 7pm to 11.30pm.
Hot food and drinks on sale.
Dancing competitions, Lucky Ticket, Raffle, Prizes to be won.
Donations for the raffle will be accepted at the Parish office.
Tickets $15 Adults or $8 children 5-12.
This event support the OLMC Youth Group to raise funds for the Australian Catholic Youth Festival.

YOUTH SATURDAY NIGHT DISCO
On Saturday 29 June 2013 from 6.30pm to 10.00pm in the Parish Centre, 101 Riddell Rd Sunbury, our youth will be holding a disco to raise funds for the Australian Catholic Youth Festival in December.
Tickets cost $15 per person. Pizza and drinks can be purchased on the night . Contact Angelo on 0458 502 232 or Jo at the Parish office on 9774 1060 for tickets.

PENTECOST SUNDAY……YOUTH
Archbishop Denis Hart has sent through a letter for our Youth. The topic of the letter is “Faith expands our hearts in love.” There are copies in the foyer of St Anne’s Church, but can also be accessed online via www.cam.org.au/YouthLetter.
In the letter, it says,
“No one can force someone else to believe something they do not want to believe. Neither the Church, nor our parents nor our teachers can impose faith on us. God could, but he does not.”
FLAMEFEST THE RALLY
This event is a fund raiser for our youth group.
Cost is $20 per person.

Flame is a youth ministry for the parish of Our Lady of Assumption Keilor Downs.
With a successful and overpowering congregation of 700 parishioners participating in the flamefest of 2012, (which was performed by Fr. Rob Galea, Disciples of Jesus band (doj) Genevieve Bryant, Nihal, David Leminu, Gary and Natasha Pinto and MC Fr Keswick), Monsignor Portelli has approved this years Flamefest the Rally with great enthusiasm.
Performers for this years rally will be…the Disciples of Jesus band (DOJ), Holy Redeemer band, Genevieve Bryant and Nihal D’Silva. They come together in faith to ignite a flame of faith, hope and Love.
YOUTH SUNDAY
Congratulations to Garnet Jacob and Maria Mallia for the beautiful display for the Stations of the Cross for the Youth of our Parish last Friday night. Please keep our youth in your prayers, especially today being Youth Sunday, that they will continue to grow in faith and be supported by our Parish Community.
OLMC YOUTH CHOIR
The OLMC Youth Choir will be having choir practice on Wednesday 20 March in St Anne’s Church from 6.45– 7.30pm.

AUSTRALIAN CATHOLIC YOUTH FESTIVAL MELBOURNE 2013
This is happening in our own town for our own youth! The festival will be held from Thursday 5 December to Saturday 7 December. It will be held at the ACU, St Patrick’s Campus in East Melbourne. The festival invites students from Year
9 to adults aged 25. The festival aims to celebrate the communion between God and humanity that the Catholic Church signifies and makes present in Australia and will be a rich experience for our youth. Two information session are being held on Thursday 7 March at 3pm-4.30pm and 7.30pm-9pm at Cardinal Knox Centre, 383 Albert St, East Melbourne. For any enquiries, contact Annaliese on 9412 3326.
OLMC YOUTH CHOIR
If you are interested in being part of our youth choir, please contact Catherine at olmcyouthchoir@yahoo.com.
Practise is usually only twice per month and sing at Mass once per month.
We have a great bunch of kids practising at the moment to help make Mass an uplifting experience and would love to hear from children who would like to be part of this.
Today young people who formed the core of this choir in 2012 are being recognised by a badge this Sunday. We congratulate Allanah Bieshaar, Ella Blackamore, Laura Carville, Philippa Carville, Sian D’Monte, Letitia Fernandes, Ashleigh Howard, Jessica Jacob and Sinead Tighe.

The Australian Catholics Magazine is received by the parish every quarter and is available to all parishioners. This issue discusses our Indigenous brothers and sisters, in recognition of the anniversary of “Sorry Day” on Wed 13 Feb. This publication always has very thoughtful articles and is a good read. There are many copies at the Welcome Desk in the foyer. Please take your free copy paid by the parish.

WORLD YOUTH DAY 2013
World Youth Day 2013 will be held in late July in Rio de Janiero. The Victorian Coordinator is Brendan Lindsay– 9412 3306 or email wyd2013@cam.org.au. Various tour packages are available from 16-22 days costing $5090 to $6190 which includes airfares, taxes, accommodation, tours and most meals.

YOUTH DANCE NOVEMBER 23RD
CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations to all involved in the planning, the teaching, the singing, and the ushering of hundreds of people who came to our Cathedral to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation last Sunday. The Cathedral was filled twice. We congratulate those 121 children confirmed, their sponsors, teachers, catechists and families. We were blessed with the weather and we finally thank Monsignor Greg Bennet who presided and preached so well.
We have booked in again for 2013 at the same time.

Coming up on October 21 is a Cake Sale.
To be held after 8.30am Mass, we invite parishioners to bake cakes and cookies for the youth to sell at the cake sale.
All funds raised help fund the youth group activities.
Can people who are donating food please specify the ingredients. No fresh cream. Place the food in a paper or plastic plate in a freezer bag or glad wrap. Presentation and creative art work is encouraged. Please drop off between 5.30 to 6PM on 20th Oct Saturday at St Anne’s Church. Which will be sold on Saturday after the 6.00PM Mass.
