MACYAC
MacKillop Young Adult Community (MacYac) is a network of young adults and Sisters of St Joseph centred at the MacYac gathering place at 155 Melbourne Ave, Glenroy.
It provides an opportunity for young adults (1835 years) to `live in’, share life, prayer, reflection, vision and outreach to those in need.
MacYac is offering a `Come and See’ weekend from Friday 28 October to Sunday 30 October to find out more about the young adult community.
Alternatively, there is a `Come and See’ session on Saturday 29 October at 2pm.

MARY MACKILLOP WALKS FOR YOUNG ADULTS

MacKillop Young Adult Community (MacYAC) invites young adults to come and visit significant sites in the life of our first Australian saint here in Melbourne. Meet at St Francis Church, Cnr Elizabeth & Lonsdale Streets, Melbourne at 2pm. Visit the birthsite, Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre and the site of the First Providence. Come and be inspired by the person of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop-Australia’s First Saint in her home town. The walks are held on the fourth Sunday of each month. SPECIAL COLLECTION FOR SRS MAUREEN & MARY

A special collection will be taken up next weekend as a token of appreciation for the work done by these two wonderful ladies. There will also be an opportunity to say farewell to Srs Maureen and Mary at a shared lunch in the Parish Centre on Sunday 28 August from 12.00 lunch time. Please bring a plate to share.

ST. MARY OF THE CROSS MACKILLOP

To celebrate the first Feast Day of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop on 6-8 August 2011, the Sisters of St Joseph invite you to visit Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre from 10am to 4pm at 362 Albert St, East Melbourne. Entry by donation. The Museum, chapel and gift shop will be open and refreshments available. Enquiries call 03 9926 9300.

SISTERS OF ST JOSEPH IN PERU

To support their work of helping women to help themselves, a Peruvian Winter Warmer of music, food and accessories for sale will be held at Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre, 362 Albert St. East Melbourne on Thu 19 May 12.30 to 8 pm.

SHARE THE SPIRIT OF MARY MACKILLOP—BE A JOSEPHITE ASSOCIATE!

A meeting of Josephite Associates and anyone else interested in knowing more, will be held in St Joseph’s Convent, 37 Macedon St. Sunbury on WED 1st DECEMBER at 1.30pm.
Josephite Associates are men and women of any age, married or single, who are attracted to the person and spirit of Mary MacKillop.  Associates gather for friendship, prayer and to deepen their understanding of Mary MacKillop’s life and spirituality, reflecting on how they can daily live this spirit so as to make a difference in our world.
All are welcome to come and meet Sr Mary Fermio rsj, Victorian Coordinator and discover what being an Associate means.

OUR CANONISATION CELEBRATION

On 17 October, the day of the Canonisation of Mary MacKillop we, with our local Sisters of St Joseph, will celebrate a special Eucharirst in St Anne’s Church at 5.30pm, followed by a shared tea in the Parish Centre. From 7.00pm we will beam the Canonisation ceremony direct from Rome onto big screens in the Parish Centre and enjoy the event together. This will be a once in a lifetime event for us.

SPECIAL COLLECTIONS

Mary MacKillop Canonisation Appeal

This weekend will be the final collection for the Mary MacKillop Canonisation Appeal. Proceeds raised will go towards involving the Sisters of St Joseph in the Canonisation ceremony in Rome, along with the inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander representatives and a youth contingent from across all dioceses. The proceeds will also assist in providing all Australians access to the coverage of the ceremony whether it be via telecast or web-streaming.
