In preparation for the canonisation of Mary MacKillop on 17 October 2010, Mary Help of Christians’ Church, 95 Railway St. Altona will host a series of four sessions on the life and spirituality of Mary MacKillop.
Session 1: Wed 21.07.2010—An Introduction to Mary MacKillop. Facilitator: Sr Yvonne Harte rsj.
Daytime session: 1.30pm to 3.00pm.
Evening session: 7.00pm to 8.30pm (repeated).

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Happy Birthday to Sister Mary Rowan, on the recent celebration of her 80th birthday. We thank God for the presence and witness of Sister Mary in our community here at Sunbury and ask God to bless her in her future years.
On 25 July 1888 the Sisters of St Joseph were approved as a Regular Congregation with Mother House in North Sydney.

MacKillop Young Adult Community (MacYAC) invites young adults to come and visit significant sites in the life of Mary MacKillop here in Melbourne.
Leave Flagstaff Gardens at 2.00pm on the fourth Saturday of the month. Visit the birth site, Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre and site of the First Providence. Come and be inspired by the person of Mary MacKillop in this year of Canonisation.

The Sisters of St Joseph have appealed for assistance from parishes across Australia in order to raise sufficient funds to cover essential expenses associated with the Canonisation.
MARY MACKILLOP TRAIL
A four-day pilgrimage (Fri to Mon) to Hamilton, Portland and Penola visiting the various places connected with the story of Blessed Mary MacKillop is being organised for 10-13 September 2010. Travel will be by coach from Bacchus Marsh (pick up at Ballan) with motel accommodation. Some meals will be provided with a day in Penola to visit museums and sites. Cost will be approx. $500 twin share depending on the number applying, with single room supplement $120. If you are interested please contact Sr Mary Fermio 53 672 078 or by email mary.fermio@sosj.org.au as soon as possible, leaving name(s), address and phone. An application form and itinerary will then will be forwarded.

Josephite Associates are men and women of any age, married or single, who are attracted to the person and spirit of Mary MacKillop.
Associates gather for friendship, prayer and to deepen their understanding of Mary MacKillop’s life and spirituality, reflecting on how they can daily live this spirit so as to make a difference in our world.

To commemorate the Centenary of the death of Blessed Mary MacKillop in 1909, Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre will be open on SAT 10 OCTOBER from 10.00am to 4.00pm, 362 Albert St. East Melbourne (opposite the Fitzroy Gardens).

Mary MacKillop Centenary Mass and Celebrations will take place at St Patrick’s Cathedral next Saturday 8 August .
9.30am— a celebration of the MacKillop and Victorian Josephite stories.
10.00am—Mass concelebrated by Archbishop Denis Hart, Victorian Bishops and Priests.
Following Mass refreshments will be provided at Dallas Brooks Centre.
