RISING CATHOLIC ENROLMENTS
This 2012 school year has seen an increase of 4000 students in Victorian Catholic Schools to about 198000. The new St Francis of Assisi School in Tarneit opened with almost 200 students– unprecedented for a new Catholic school. 23% of Victorian children now attend Catholic schools. Parents are continuing to have confidence and trust in our Catholic Schools.
SUNBURY CHAPLAINCY ANNUAL DINNER
The Annual Dinner, incorporating a brief AGM, will be held at 7pm on Wednesday 28th March, at Goonawarra Golf Club Restaurant. This is an opportunity for you to meet our Chaplains – Alicia Drowley (Sunbury Downs) and Matt Hornby (Sunbury College). Alicia and Matt will give us a brief summary on how the year is progressing at each College and what being a Chaplain means to them.

OUR PARISH SCHOOLS-2013 ENROLMENTS
Two information sessions for parents will be held on Tuesday 20 March at 2.00pm and 7.30pm. As our schools are very popular with no vacancies at many levels, parents are advised that late applications may not be successful.
Enrolment forms will be distributed at each session.
Catholics from both our schools have priority for admittance at Salesian College which has already received a higher than usual number of enrol- ments for Year 7 in 2013.

NEW COMPUTERS FOR OLMC SCHOOL
The grade 5/6 children at OLMC Primary school who received their new laptops this week. We hope that this new tool will enhance and enrich their learning experience. They are very fortunate to have this resource available and we wish them well.
OLMC PARISHIONER HITS A HIGH IN EDUCATION
Sunbury Secondary College has just announced that the DUX of the college for 2011 was one of our parishioners who will be very familiar to all who attend 8.30am Mass on Sundays. Caitlin Allen was today informed by the Principal of the College of her achievement.
Caitlin has already accepted a science scholarship at La Trobe University to study for a Masters in Nanotechnology.

THANKS AND FAREWELL
Thanks and farewell to Fr Peter Monaghan SDB who has been the Rector of the Salesian Community in Sunbury for ten years and has been transferred to Salesian College, Chadstone. Fr Peter was the initiator of the VCAL program and has been very involved with staff and students. He has been a member of Salesian College Council for these ten years.
YOUTH GROUP
Youth (Primary and Secondary) are all welcome to join in a Carol Singing event (singing three Carols) at the Village Green on 11th Dec.
Practice will be held at St Anne’s church on 9th Dec at 7PM untill 8PM.

SUNBURY CHAPLAINCY
A special Chaplaincy Service will be held at 7.30pm on Sunday 4 December at Sunbury Baptist Church (Gap Road). At this service, we will be commissioning Alicia Drowley, the Chaplain at Sunbury Downs College and farewelling Tim Cohen who has been Chaplain at Sunbury College for two years. Tim will soon commence a full time position at Castlemaine Secondary College (the position at Sunbury College will be part time next year). We would love to see as many as possible at this special Service to support our Chaplains. Please bring a small plate of supper to share.
