Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is held in St Anne’s Church on the first Friday of every month from 7-8pm and is led by the Legion of Mary.

WORLD YOUTH DAY JULY 23-28

WYD is being held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Pilgrims from Melbourne left last Monday. Some pilgrims are travelling en-route through Santiago, Chile and will encounter parish life and mission in the poorest parts of Chile where the Columbans from Australia work.

CHARITY EVENT

A one-off charity event will be heldat Elusive Style, Shop 12 Sunbury Target Centre, Sunbury,  on Friday 2 August from 6pm. Promoting 2013 Spring Racing Carnival fashions, but helping the “Dress for Success” Charity. Any handbags in good condition can be traded on the night for discounts on new ones. All bags traded should be in good condition as they will be donated to charity. Surprises and specials to be found on the night. Bring a friend and promote a local business.

The Parish Historical Committee have put on display items of Historical significance from our parish. All are invited to view items like vestments, …… in the St Anne’s Chapel and Historical Room. After 8.30am and 10.30am Masses, morning tea will be served, so please enjoy a cuppa.

ABORIGINAL AND TORRES STRAIT ISLANDER SUNDAY 2013

The theme this year is “Peace and Mercy for all”. Today we celebrate Aboriginal Sunday and the beginning of NAIDOC Week which celebrates Aboriginal culture. Today is the day where indigenous and non indigenous Catholics sit side by side to celebrate and acknowledge the gifts that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Catholics bring to the Church in Australia.
On Sunday 14th July at the 11.00 AM Mass at St Francis Church in the city the Aboriginal Catholic Community will gather to celebrate. All Welcome.

Saint Thomas Parish in Greensbourgh North,  have dedicated a building in Fr Kevins  honour last Thursday, as part of their parish Feast Day, for his 19 years of dedicated service .

ANNUAL MARRIAGE ANNIVERSARY MASS

CHRISTMAS IN JULY DINNER & DANCE

Christmas in July Dinner Dance will be held on Saturday 27 July in St Anne’s Parish Centre from 7.15pm to 11.30pm.
Cost
is $15 for adults and $8 for children 5-12 years old.
Children under 5 years old are free.
Dinner and drinks will be sold at the venue.
Dance the night away to The Megabites and solo artist Maurice Saunders.
Bingo, dance competitions, spot prizes and lots more on the night.
All proceeds will go to the OLMC Youth attending the Australian Catholic Youth Festival in December 2013.

GROWING GOOD MEN

MULTICULTURAL ACTION PLAN 2013-2018

Last week two consultations were held in Sunbury where the residents have been born in 87 countries including Australia. 19.8% are born overseas. The top six overseas countries of birth are in order: England, New Zealand, Italy, Scotland, India and Malta (ABS Census 2011)

YOUTH SATURDAY NIGHT DISCO

On Saturday 29 June 2013 from 6.30pm to 10.00pm in the Parish Centre, 101 Riddell Rd Sunbury, our youth will be holding a disco to raise funds for the OLMC Youth Group to attend the National Youth Festival in December 2013.
Tickets cost $15 per person including dinner. Hot food  and drinks can be purchased on the night . Contact Angelo on

For the Juniors, you are also welcome to join in the fun from 4pm to 6pm with dinner included. Cost for juniors is $10.

PARISH HIGH TEA REPORT

On Wednesday 19 June, 37 ladies and gentlemen gathered in the Parish Centre for high tea, a fashion parade and a raffle where everyone won! We had a lot of smiling faces and laughs which was fantastic to see. The food was catered for by a local family called Essence Food Co. and the fashion show was by Postie who will donate 10% of the sales to St Vincent de Paul. Thank you to the ladies who modeled for us, Monica Rintoull, Gail Ryan and Tamara Moir. Lots of fun for all. Due to the encouraging feedback, another high tea will be arranged for later this year. Thanks to the organizer Joanne Spiteri.
