A number of Catholics wish to collect a petition to be forwarded to the local Federal Member of Parliament. The words of the petition were agreed by the bishops as:
‘As a parishioner of ………………(within your electorate) please consider my position on the meaning of marriage. Given the variety of domestic arrangements available in Australia, I request that you protect the unique institution of marriage as traditionally understood and actually lived as the complementary love between a man and a woman’.
Please forward before 22 December or sign a copy of the petition at the Welcome Desk.

We come today with grateful hearts to farewell Lucy for being our principal for these last eight years. Hers has been an enormous contribution to St Anne’s School and to our parish in general. Her commitment to our children and parishioners has been outstanding. She has been present at every important parish event during her time here.
The internal improvements of our school, the learning and teaching and the development of staff has been revealed by the external reviewer of the school, by parents and by teachers.
The external improvements are obvious to all: refurbished junior school, the oval, the new car park and the latest buildings opened this month.
Lucy’s contribution to Catholic education in the broader arena is shown by her twelve years of service on the Catholic Education Commission of Victoria whose members include the Victorian bishops and directors of Catholic Education offices.
We wish her a well-earned rest after thirty years of principalship, a most demanding vocation.Lucy, may your future be blessed in many ways especially with good health, love and peace.
