CENTENARY PARISH BALL
The Centenary Ball on 9 October was an outstanding success as every one of 234 present had a marvellous evening thanks to Eileen Cardillo and her committee. The venue, the food, the band and the friendly atmosphere was fabulous.
At the Ball and at the Parish Assembly people expressed the wish for the Ball to be repeated. Consequently, the Parish Ball for 2011 will be on Saturday 8 October at the same venue—Calabria Club with the same band. Please put this date in your diary.
HELPERS NEEDED
Helpers needed after the 9.15am Mass on Wednesday to collate Thanksgiving Envelopes in Parish Centre.
THROUGH THE EYES OF OUR CHILDREN
‘On Sunday 17 October at 5.30pm Mass at St Anne’s Church, we went to celebrate the Canonisation of Mary MacKillop. I was part of the choir and we had to sing a special song about Mary. I was very proud to sing and after Mass lots of people said how beautiful our singing was’…..by Georigia 4B.
‘I went to the Mass with my Grandma. The Mass was very special. Sisters Mary and Maureen took up the gifts, they had blue scarves on. My Grandma was so moved that she cried during the powerpoint of Mary MacKillop’s life. A fair few people stayed after Mass to watch the Canonisation on the big screen at the Parish Centre. The atmosphere was amazing. When Mary’s name was called out everyone in the Parish Centre cheered ‘Go Aussie’! Mary MacKillop is now called St Mary of the Cross. We know we can always pray to her when we need help’…..by Alexander 4R
